Even the best-planned trips can be impacted by an unexpected event or unplanned interruption, illness, road closure, traffic accident, medical emergency, adverse weather, natural disaster, or more. Trip protection allows you to recoup the investment you made in your trip if you meet the terms and conditions outlined in the plan.
Say it’s the day before your big RV trip and your daughter comes down with a nasty case of stomach flu. You had booked a non-refundable trip, and now you’re out hundreds – or even thousands – of dollars. Or are you?
With trip protection, you could be reimbursed 100% of your prepaid RV rental booking cost in the event you have to cancel due to a covered event, rather than $0 as you would if you selected a vehicle with a strict cancellation policy.
Some trip protection coverages include: Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption, and Emergency Assistance and Transportation.
Some covered events that apply to Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption (please note that terms and conditions apply):
Much like stumbling upon a bear in the wild, you never know when a medical emergency will present itself. Covered expenses include:
We highly recommend purchasing trip protection. It offers you coverage if you have to cancel or interrupt your trip due to a number of covered reasons and would otherwise lose your prepaid RV rental reservation and other costs.
Trip protection is offered when you make your reservation and can be purchased up until final payment.
Everyone staying in the RV during the reservation is insured. Note that some coverages are subject to policy maximums.
If you purchase this plan and are not satisfied within 10 days of receipt, contact Outdoorsy to cancel. If you haven’t already left on your trip or filed a claim, you will receive a complete refund of your plan cost.
Trip cancellation coverage begins at 12:01 A.M. on the day after you purchase your plan. All other coverages begin when you depart on your trip.
Many owners aren’t able to refund all of your prepaid payments and deposits if you have to cancel your reservation, especially as your trip’s departure date gets closer. In some cases, your entire reservation may be non-refundable. If you are prevented from taking your trip for a covered reason, a travel protection plan can reimburse up to 100% of your non-refundable payments or deposits for your RV rental which would be lost if you canceled your reservation.
Protection plans cannot cover all events that might cause you to cancel or interrupt your plans. Those events which are covered are listed in your Description of Coverage or Policy.
Some examples of unforeseen covered reasons for Trip Cancellation or Trip Interruption include sickness, injury or death of you, a family member or traveling companion; school year extensions; interruption of road service; a documented traffic accident en route to your destination; interruption of water or other essential services at your destination; mandatory evacuation at your destination; your personal home made uninhabitable by hurricane or other natural disaster; flight delays due to bad weather; involuntary termination of employment; and more. Additional terms and conditions apply, review a sample Description of Coverage/Policy for full details.
