<p>Charging for excess distance is simple through the Outdoorsy platform. If you know prior to your renters booking that they plan on traveling well over your daily allowance of kilometers.</p>
<p>One option is to add a package cost for the additional KMs prior to approving the booking. This way the renter is charged up front, and if they don’t end up traveling the full estimate you can refund any difference once they have returned.</p>
<p>If however you have not pre-charged for additional kilometres and your renter goes they you can claim the additional charge from their security/damage deposit prior to releasing it.</p>
<p>To do this log into your dashboard and click on “Completed Bookings” select the rental in question and click “View Details” from here you can select “Manage Security Deposit” and choose to claim a portion of it or all if necessary.<br />
We recommend including a detailed summary breakdown in the notes section of this process so that the renter has a record of everything that they are being charged for. Once you release a portion of the security deposit it is returned immediately to the renter so please make sure that you have calculated all additional costs (outside of claims) before releasing or claiming a portion of the deposit. If the security deposit is not enough to cover the additional costs, please reach out to our support team at support@outdoorsy com or toll-free (800) 3688399 and we will assist in charging your renter the additional cost to their card on file.</p>

How can I list my RV on Outdoorsy?

<p>First off, congratulations. Once you have logged in to your dashboard at https://uk.outdoorsy.com/, you’ll see your rental request and message from your potential renter. If they have provided enough information for you to feel comfortable approving the rental right there, go ahead and click on “Accept” next to the Reservation Request to send the approval back to your renter so they can finalize and pay the reservation deposit. However, we understand if you want to ask a few more questions, to do this simply click on the “Message [name]” button next to the request to start your conversation.</p>

What are your travel plans with this rental?<br />
If the renter is planning on driving/towing do they have an estimated kilometres for their trip<br />

I have a rental request, what do I do now?

<p>The services fee cover insurance, customer service, marketing, payment processing, partnerships &amp; promotions, site maintenance, etc. It’s FREE to list on Outdoorsy, you will only be charged a service fee on a completed booking.</p>


What does the service fee cover?


<p>You can update your credit card in your account at anytime.</p>



<p>If you have a trip booked, be sure to update your card on your trip page. Otherwise, you can update it in your account settings.</p>



<h3><strong>Add a new card for a trip you already have booked</strong></h3>



<h5><em>If you already have a trip booked and you’d like any upcoming charges to go on a new card, use these instructions.&nbsp;</em></h5>



<p>Be sure to do this when logged in to the desktop or mobile website. This functionality is not yet available on our iPhone or Android apps — sorry about that.</p>



<p>From the My account dropdown in the upper right, select Upcoming trips. </p>



<p>Select the trip you need to update the card for. Then, scroll down to and expand the Payment &amp; cancellation section.</p>



<p>Under Payment details, select Change payment method. Then, open the dropdown and select Add payment method.</p>



<p>Once you’ve added your card, any upcoming payments for the trip will go on your new card. The card will also be saved to your account.&nbsp;</p>

<p>On the desktop or mobile website, go to the My account dropdown and select Settings. From the mobile app, go to your Profile and select Settings.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Then, select Payment methods. From here, you can add a new payment method or remove an existing one.</p>

<h3>Eligibility</h3>



<p>The Contest is open to residents of the U.S. and its territories, the District of Columbia, and Canada (excluding Quebec) who are 21 years of age or older as of the date of entry. Officers, directors, and employees of Outdoorsy or its affiliates, and related companies, and the immediate family members (parents, children, siblings, spouse) or members of the same household (whether related or not) of such officers, directors, and employees are not eligible to participate in the Contest. Entries originating from any other jurisdiction are not eligible. The Contest is subject to all applicable Texas and US laws and regulations and is void where prohibited.</p>



<h3>Agreement to official rules </h3>



<p>By entering and participating in the Contest, you, the entrant, fully and unconditionally agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Outdoorsy, which will be final and binding in all matters relating to the Contest. By participating in the Contest, you, the entrant, grant Outdoorsy permission to send you emails, which you may opt out of at any time.</p>



<h3>How to enter</h3>



<p>Submission of entries (the skills-test) must be made during the Contest Period. Participation consists of an entry form located behind the designated “Enter now” digital button interface from the Get Outta Here landing page at <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.outdoorsy.com/get-outta-here" target="_blank">www.outdoorsy.com/get-outta-here</a>. You must fill in all of the fields as directed.</p>



<p>Three potential winners of the skills-test will be selected by Outdoorsy (in its sole discretion) each calendar week during the Contest Period. The three potential winners’ submissions will then be published and displayed (anonymously) on multiple channels, including but not limited to paid social and other organic communities. Users of such channels may vote on their favorite submission, and the submission with the most votes will be selected as a potential winner.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>



<p>Outdoorsy is not responsible for entries made but not received and/or accepted, and that such entries are void, including but not limited to:</p>

<h3>Prize</h3>



<p>The prize consists of: US$1,000.00 in credits for exclusive use on Outdoorsy.com, plus an “escape pack” of partner products with an estimated average value up to US$2,000.00. The prize is awarded “as is” with no warranty or guarantee, either express or implied. The right to receive the prize is not transferable, assignable, and no substitutions or cash equivalents are permitted except at Outdoorsy’s sole discretion or as otherwise provided herein. Thousand Trails complimentary four consecutive nights of camping on an RV site at any participating Thousand Trails Campground, Encore RV Resort or destination campground featured on RVontheGo.com, a $300 value, restrictions below. The complimentary stay at any campground featured on RVontheGo.com is subject to availability and reservations are required. Stay must be completed by June 15, 2023 and booked by June 1, 2023. Travel to and from the property and other expenses of the trip, such as food and personal items, are not included. The stay must be one consecutive period of time and any unused portion of the prize will be forfeited. Holidays and special events are excluded. Any and all prize-related expenses, including without limitation any and all federal, state, and local taxes, shall be the sole responsibility of the winner. By accepting the prize, the winner grants its permission for Outdoorsy to use the winner’s name, picture, social media pseudonym and city and state for purposes of advertising and trade without further consent or compensation, unless prohibited by law.</p>



<p>Outdoorsy makes no representations or warranties whatsoever as to the ability to use the prize to book and rent any particular vehicle listed on the Outdoorsy.com platform. A winner making a booking on the Outdoorsy.com platform agrees that additional criteria may be imposed by the listed vehicle’s owner. If the booking value exceeds the US$1,000.00 credit, then the winner will be solely and completely responsible for covering the booking expenses beyond the prize amount. Such booking must purchase the maximum available insurance coverage offered through the Outdoorsy.com booking platform. Outdoorsy will not be responsible for covering additional trip costs on and/or off platform, including but not limited to, mileage overage fees, gas, campground reservations, airfare or any other costs and expenses. All bookings on the Outdoorsy.com platform must fully comply with the terms and conditions and other policies therein.</p>



<h3>Winner selection and notification</h3>



<p>As described in “How to Enter,” three potential winners will be selected each calendar week during the Contest Period. The three potential winners’ submissions will be published and displayed (anonymously) on multiple channels, including but not limited to paid social, other organic communities, and partner channels. Users of such channels may vote on their favorite submission, and the submission with the most votes will be selected as a potential winner.&nbsp; In the event of a tie, Outdoorsy in its sole discretion may select the winner. The potential winner will be notified via email addresses provided on the submission. In order to receive the prize, the potential winner must return email communications with Outdoorsy’s team to set the delivery conditions of the prize. If the potential winner fails to give respond to the email within 14 days or is found to be, in Outdoorsy’s sole discretion, ineligible or in violation of these Official Rules, such potential winner and his/her entry will be disqualified, and an alternate winner will be selected from all remaining eligible entries.&nbsp; Outdoorsy may request paperwork that the potential winner will be required to complete in order to be awarded the prize (including, but not limited to, a publicity release, tax documentation, drivers license information, evidence of insurability, and/or liability release). The failure to do so will render the potential winner ineligible. If the potential winner is under the age of 25, they will need to be accompanied on their reward trip by a verified driver (verified in Outdoorsy’s sole discretion) over the age of 25 who will be responsible for being the driver of the vehicle during the rental period and who will be legally responsible for compliance with all terms and conditions related to accepting and using the prize, including the provision of paperwork and the releases and indemnifications described in these Official Rules. The prize will be available for redemption until September 4, 2023. The receipt of the prize offered in this Contest by the potential winner is conditional upon compliance with these Official Rules and any and all applicable federal and state laws and regulations.</p>



<h4>General terms</h4>



<p>Decisions made by Outdoorsy are final and binding in all matters, including interpretation of these Official Rules and awarding of the prize. Entrants assume all risk of loss, damage, destruction, delay, or misdirection of Contest materials submitted to Outdoorsy. Outdoorsy reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Contest, or any part of it, if any virus, bugs, other technical failures, non-authorized human intervention, fraud, or any other causes beyond Outdoorsy’s control impair the administration, security, integrity, or proper functioning of the Contest, as determined by Outdoorsy in its sole discretion. Outdoorsy in its sole discretion reserves the right to disqualify any entrant it finds to be tampering with or attempting to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules. Any attempt by an entrant to deliberately damage or undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil laws, and, should such an attempt be made, Outdoorsy reserves the right to seek damages from such persons to the fullest extent permitted by law. Outdoorsy’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that term.</p>



<h4>Release and indemnification</h4>



<p>By participating in the Contest, you agree to release from liability and hold harmless Outdoorsy and its parent company, affiliates, and related companies, and each of their respective officers, directors, and employees and agents (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from and against any claim or cause of action, including, but not limited to, personal injury, death, or damage to or loss of property, arising out of participation in the Contest or the receipt or use or misuse of any prize, or from any trip booked or taken using the prize. Entrants agree to indemnify the Released Parties and any other companies associated with the Contest, including any vendors or marketing agencies, and any third parties who have provided prizing. The indemnity covers all claims made not only by potential winners, but also by anyone participating in the Contest. The indemnity covers both claims arising out of the Contest itself, and claims arising from any use of the prizes.</p>



<h4>Limitation of liability</h4>



<p>Outdoorsy is not responsible for: (1) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by entrant, printing errors, or any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest; (2) technical failures of any kind, including, but not limited to, malfunctions, delays, interruptions, or disconnections in phone lines or network hardware or software; (3) technical or human error which may occur in the administration of the Contest or the processing of entries; (4) late, lost, undeliverable, damaged, stolen, misdirected, or postage-due entries; or (5) any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, by entrant’s participation in the Contest or receipt or use or misuse of any prize, or from any trip booked or taken using the prize. This includes such failures that might result in more winners than planned are issued.</p>



<h4>Disputes</h4>



<p>This Contest is governed by the laws of the United States and State of Texas without respect to conflict of law doctrines. As a condition of participating in this Contest, entrant agrees that any and all causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, exclusively and solely before a state or federal court located in Austin, Texas. Further, under no circumstances will entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental, or consequential damages, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, and entrant further waives all rights to have damages multiplied or increased.</p>



<h4>Privacy policy</h4>



<p>Information submitted with an online entry is subject to the Privacy Policy stated on Outdoorsy’s website.</p>



<h4>Winner name and rules </h4>



<p>To obtain a copy of the winner’s name or a copy of these Official Rules, mail your request along with a stamped, self-addressed envelope to Outdoorsy. Residents of Vermont may omit return postage. Requests must be received during the Contest Period.</p>

Can I track where renters take my vehicle?


<p>The amount on your 1099-K represents your tax liability as defined by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).</p>



<p>The IRS requires Outdoorsy to base our 1099-K reporting on the gross reportable payments that renters make to our platform.&nbsp;</p>



<ul><li><strong>Included in 1099-K reporting: </strong>For each rental, the amount a renter pays for the vehicle (nightly rate multiplied by the number of nights), as well as any add-ons. This is <em>before</em> the owner service fee has been subtracted.</li><li><strong>Not included in 1099-K reporting:</strong> The amount renters pay directly to Outdoorsy for insurance, as a renter service fee, and as sales/transactional tax.</li></ul>



<h4><strong>Why include the owner service fee on 1099-Ks?</strong></h4>



<p>Because it doesn’t come out of the customer’s payment to Outdoorsy. It comes out of our payout to you.</p>



<p>Again, the IRS requires us to base our 1099-K reporting on renters’ payments and not owners’ payouts.&nbsp;</p>



<p>This means your 1099-K will differ from your total payouts for the year in your Outdoorsy account. The difference is the owner service fee. It’s included in 1099-K reporting. It’s not included in your total payouts for the year.&nbsp;</p>



<p>This could change in the future. We watch tax laws closely so we can help you comply. We’ll implement any changes that impact you and your tax liability.</p>



<h4><strong>Reminder about service fees</strong></h4>



<p>Both RV owners and renters pay a service fee. Renters pay a percentage of their rental cost. Owners, a percentage of their payout. This helps enable Outdoorsy to maintain a secure and updated platform.</p>


Where’d the taxable amount on my 1099-K come from?


<p>The federal government imposes tax reporting requirements on companies like Outdoorsy. This means we must notify the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) of reportable payments that just about everyone receives from our platform.</p>



<p>Without your tax info, we can’t do this. But, that doesn’t mean you&#8217;re off the hook.</p>



<p>By law, if Outdoorsy doesn’t have your tax information, we must withhold at least 24% of your reportable payments as income tax. We remit this to the IRS for you.&nbsp;</p>



<h4><strong>Where do I add my tax info?</strong></h4>



<p>You can add your tax information in the Account area of your <a href="https://www.outdoorsy.com/dashboard/account/payout" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Dashboard</a>, on the Payout preferences or Tax docs tab.&nbsp;</p>



<h4><strong>What if I don’t add my tax info?</strong></h4>



<p>Automatic withholding (24% of your reportable payments) begins January 1, 2022.</p>



<h4><strong>Can I stop automatic withholdings once they’ve begun?</strong></h4>



<p>Yes, once you provide your tax information, Outdoorsy will stop withholding on future payouts.</p>



<h4><strong>What happens to the money that Outdoorsy withholds?</strong></h4>



<p>We remit the money to the IRS in your name, and you may be able to treat the withholdings as tax payments made by you. However, you may face difficulties given that the payments we remit aren’t tied to your taxpayer identification number.&nbsp;</p>



<p>That’s why, even if withholding has started, you should provide your tax information to Outdoorsy.&nbsp;</p>



<p>You should consult with your tax professional for more information.</p>



<h4><strong>I just submitted my tax information. Will Outdoorsy pay me back what it withheld?</strong></h4>



<p>It depends on when the withholding occurred and when you submitted your tax information. However, generally, Outdoorsy is prohibited from returning withheld amounts.&nbsp;</p>



<h4><strong>Does Outdoorsy always notify the IRS of my reportable payments?</strong></h4>



<p>It depends on how much you receive in <a href="https://www.outdoorsy.com/help/whered-the-taxable-amount-on-my-1099-k-come-from" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">reportable payments</a> each year:</p>



<h5><strong>$600 or more</strong></h5>



<p>Yes, we must notify the IRS of your reportable payments, starting in 2022. We’ll also prepare a 1099-K for you and send a copy to the IRS.&nbsp;</p>



<h5><strong>Less than $600</strong></h5>



<p>We may not report anything to the IRS. You should consult with your own tax advisers to determine whether you need to report any activity on your income tax return.</p>



<h4><strong>American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) of 2021</strong></h4>



<p>If you’ve been active on Outdoorsy and have never come across these tax requirements, it’s because some of them are new for 2022.</p>



<p>ARPA introduced the $600 threshold for tax reporting. This goes into effect on January 1, 2022.</p>
